Sam Altman made important statements about the future of OpenAI via his X account last week. Altman stated that they aim to simplify the products offered by the company and stated that they are aware that the current models have become complex. OpenAI's next model will be GPT-4.5, known internally as "Orion", and this model is expected to be available next week.
Altman stated that their future goal is to create integrated systems where all vehicles can be used by combining the "o" series and "GPT" series models. He also announced that GPT-5 will be released as a comprehensive system that brings together many technologies, including the o3 model, although there is no clear release date yet. Stating that o3 will not be offered as an independent model after GPT-5, Altman said that the free version of ChatGPT will provide access to GPT-5 with certain restrictions, but Plus subscribers will have higher capacity and Pro subscribers will have higher capacity.
